About Dementia Jersey Abseil September 2026

Dementia Jersey Corbière Lighthouse Abseil in partnership with Vertical Edge Jersey.

Are you ready for an adrenaline-filled experience that will make a lasting impact? Take on this epic abseil 36 metres down the iconic Corbière Lighthouse and rockface while enjoying stunning views of the coast from a whole new perspective. Not only will you conquer your fears, but your participation will help raise vital funds and awareness for Dementia Jersey, making a huge difference in the lives of those impacted by dementia.

Event Details:

  • Abseil Training: Saturday 26th September
    Mandatory 1.5 hour session will take place at Noirmont Point the day before the main abseil.

  • Abseil Day: Sunday 27th September 
    Experience the thrill of descending the lighthouse and rockface at low tide. 

Fundraising: We ask each participant to raise a minimum of £100. A personal fundraising page will be automatically set up when you register. Every pound you raise helps provide vital support for people in Jersey living with dementia.

Timings: Time slots will be allocated closer to the time, but in the meantime, please ensure you are free between 8:00am - 2:00pm on the Saturday for a 1.5 hour training session and 12:00pm - 4:00pm on Sunday 27th September, for the main event abseil. Time slots will be given prior to the event.


The training session and abseil will be delivered by Vertical Edge.

Age Restrictions: Minimum 16 if accompanied by an adult, otherwise the minimum age is 18. 

There is no upper age limit. However, participants do need to have a suitable level of physical fitness to take part. 

Medical conditions must be declared. Should you have any personal health concerns or queries as to whether this activity will be suitable for you, please get in touch and we can discuss further. 

There are no weight restrictions for the abseil however there are harness size restrictions:

Harness size: 
Waist: 40-125cm (16-49")
Leg size: 40-70cm (16-28") 

Please note: there is also a narrow hatch that must be climbed through at the top of the Corbière Lighthouse. Measurements can be provided upon request.

If the abseil is unable to go ahead due to adverse weather or any other unforeseen circumstances, the contingency dates for the event are 10th and 11th October. By registering, you agree to be available on this date. Refunds will not be issued if you are unable to attend the rescheduled event.
