About Conference: Shaping the Future of Dementia

Shaping the Future of Dementia - a Conference

Innovation and Excellence from Diagnosis and Beyond

With an estimated 1,600 people living with dementia in Jersey, it is the fastest growing disease affecting over 65s. Many of us are touched by the potentially devastating impact of dementia, whether personally, professionally, or both. Although there is no known cure, research is steadily evolving. Medical advancements and person-centred approaches mean we can now support people living at home for longer, creating environments which support a good quality of life where individuals can live safely and with dignity.

Covering the journey from diagnosis and beyond, ‘Shaping the Future of Dementia’ will explore pressing topics in this field, including:

  • Timely diagnosis

  • Communication

  • Nutrition support

  • Best-practice care

  • The Island’s new Navigation service

  • In-home modifications

  • Advances in medication

  • Jersey’s first Dementia Village

  • End-of-life care

Join us for this one-day conference featuring inspiring speakers and workshop hosts from on and off island and leave with new insights and practical tips to support people living with dementia with dignity and quality of life.

Attendance equates to six CPD credits.

Target audience:

  • Health professionals

  • Medical practitioners

  • Professional carers.

Date:   Saturday 7th November, 8.30-4.45pm

Location:   The Pomme D’Or Hotel

Price:   Early bird - £55. Full price - £80 (to include refreshments and lunch)
