Terms and Conditions
Your registration in the Newbury Santa Fun Run constitutes your acceptance - including all other persons you have registered - of the event terms and conditions as detailed herein.
Registration and event payment can only be performed on this RaceNation website. Anyone viewing the event from the Newbury Rotary Club website will be directed to this RaceNation website to enter 2026 Newbury Santa Fun Run. No other outlet, business or web site is authorised to offer, accept registrations or payments for this event.
This is a Fun Run, is not timed and is not a race. Runners can run and walk as much as they like. The route goes through public areas (streets, shopping areas etc.) and the public, bystanders and supporters should be treated with respect and given priority. Be aware, the public will be all ages - old, young, fit and not so fit and may have pets in tow.
There will be some qualified First Aiders among marshals along the routes – but participants are responsible for their own safety, including their fitness to participate in the event.
Young Runners – Children (aged 5-12 years), Young People (aged 13-17 years):
Ages are considered as at 22 November 2026 (the date of the event).
All Young People (aged 13-17 years) and Children (aged 5-12 years) can compete with the permission of their parent or guardian who will remain responsible for their safe conduct and behaviour throughout the event. Children aged from 5-12 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult or guardian throughout the event. Children aged under 8 years can only participate in the shorter (1 Km) route.
Children aged under 5 are FREE when accompanied by a registered adult and will remain the responsibility of the registered adult at all times. Santa suits are not provided for Under 5's accompanying a registered adult.
Young People who are aged 13-17 years old, who are not accompanied by an adult or guardian responsible for them, will need to submit an information and permission slip signed by their parent or guardian when collecting their runner number on the day of registration at the event.
Adults wishing to accompany their child over the 1Km route and then leave their child in the care of another adult (parent / guardian) to undertake the 5Km run themselves - it will be their absolute responsibility to make sure the child is put in the care of the other responsible adult (parent / guardian) before they continue the run.
Road Crossings:
Some sections of the route(s) will be in the Newbury town centre pedestrian area. However, some crossings of roads and driveways are necessary and there is a section of road (Speen Lane) with no footway. Although marshals will be assisting at key points on the route, runners will be crossing or running along live roads at their own risk and must obey the Highway Code. Those who are responsible for Young People (13-17) must ensure that the Young People understand and will abide by these conditions.
Photography:
Some photographs will be taken for publicity purposes which Newbury Rotary Club and Visit Newbury may wish to use on their websites and for news distribution. If you should not want photographs taken of individuals in your group, please let us know at the point of event registration. We will provide a tag and make reasonable efforts to exclude these persons from photographs taken under our control.
