About Brighter Futures

Brighter Futures is a local charity supporting parents, families and young people in Jersey. We provide coordinator 1:1 support alongside a number of free evidence-based programmes and services to help support the parents and carers we meet.

Supporting approximately 150 families at any one time, we focus on 3 key areas:

  1. Parent–Child Relationships programmes, help our clients recognise and value their role as their child’s first and most important educator.
  2. Positive Mental Health and Wellbeing programmes, which support social and emotional wellbeing, increase resilience to cope with difficulties and challenges to give our clients hope for a brighter future.
  3. Second-Chance Learning programmes, provide the skills our clients may need in order to progress and succeed in education, work and life.

Brighter Futures is based at The Bridge and clients can self-refer or they can be referred by any professional who knows them. We work in partnership with other agencies to support clients to make lasting and sustainable changes that will make a difference to their future, through the choices they make for themselves and their families.

Since 2008, Brighter Futures has supported over 4,164 families, benefitting over 15,492 Islanders. Working alongside the main carer, our educational model provides them with ways to thrive.

It currently costs Brighter Futures approximately £8,000 to work with a whole family for a year and our overall running costs for 2026 are more than £1.15 million pounds and we rely heavily on the generosity of the Island to generate our income.
